This white granite, steel structure building was designed by New York architects Moweray and Affinger in the Beaux Arts style. It is one of Trenton’s most beautiful buildings. An equally distinguished classical vocabulary was used on the building’s interior, intended to give all who did business there a sense of pride and security.
This four-story 35,700 square foot office building is located just east of the Delaware River on the bank of the Delaware-Raritan Canal. Opened in 2006, the Canal Banks Building, a build-to-suit for Thomas Edison State College, housed their Information Center and other administrative functions.
Making this project even more unique is the 15,000 square foot parking facility under the building. The first floor tenant space is elevated by a foundation of 30-inch diameter caissons drilled into bed rock because of it’s close proximity to the canal.
This expansive project includes commercial, retail and multi-family housing. The 425 million-dollar development project which began in 2012, being built in a multi-phased project completed in 2018.
The commercial/retail is 52,000 SF of Rowan University office space, 28,000 SF medical use space, 29,500 SF Rowan University classroom as well as over 100,000 SF of retail offerings
